some things to keep in mind:

• the RSS url is based on a search query or archive.org. so you can use any metadata filed that is in the search engine (and most are) such as date, publicdate, subject, etc. use the advanced search function to hone your query and then select "RSS format:("Fields to return" ignored)" to return a url for your RSS feed URL.

• metadata is at the item page level, not file level, so we typically suggest that you create a new item anytime the content deserves unique metadata such as date.
• We do have an s3 API that you could create a script for if you are handy with that.

hope this helps. for additional information you might want to send questions to info@archive.org.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the quick reply.

1. That is exactly what I did. What I don't know is A) what metadata fields are available, B) how to set those metadata fields to the values I wish them to be and C) how to control the order in which the items are listed in the resultant RSS.

2. The only information I have about the metadata on an item page is what I can reverse engineer from using the system. It's been a trial-and-error process. I'm sure it would be easier if I could find documentation that spelled out some of these things.

3. Where is the documentation how I can use the s3 API to access the archive. I am, in fact, quite handy with scripts.

Best regards,
